Dr. Mark Bowers

Dr. Mark Bowers, a native of Elizabethton, TN, has been providing comprehensive eye care to families in the Tri-Cities area for over two decades. He earned his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 2002 and is a proud member of both the American Optometric Association and the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians.

After starting his career with a local practice, Dr. Bowers founded Blountville Family Eyecare in 2004, creating a practice centered around personalized, patient-first vision care. In 2021, he rebranded the practice as Destination Eyecare to better serve the community.

Dr. Bowers has a strong clinical focus on the diagnosis and management of eye diseases, including dry eye treatment, diabetic eye disease, cataracts, and glaucoma care. He is passionate about integrating advanced technology into patient care to ensure early detection and effective treatment options.

Beyond optometry, Dr. Bowers enjoys exploring national parks, visiting coastal towns, and spending time on the water with his wife and three children. His hobbies include amateur photography, fishing, and boating. A lifelong aviation enthusiast, he fulfilled his dream of flying in 2007 by earning his private pilot’s license and continues to pursue advanced training.
